Performance Tips
There are many variables that can affect the length of time food or beverages will stay cold. These include the ambient air temperature, the temperature of the contents at the time of packing, the volume of contents packed, and the amount and/or type of ice or ice packs used.
Cool contents beforehand
The colder the contents are at the time of packing, the longer they will stay cold.
Fill your lunch bag completely
The fuller your lunch bag is with cold food (and drinks), the longer the contents will stay cold. A small lunch bag, fully packed, will stay cooler longer than a larger, partially loaded lunch bag.
Use Ice Packs/Ice Walls
Our lunch bags may be used with or without ice packs/walls, however, ice packs/ice walls will extend the amount of time that food stays cold.
Double up on Ice Packs/Walls
Stacked ice packs keep lunch bag contents cold the longest.
Opt for Ice Walls
Our Ice Wall® lunch bags have exterior Ice Wall® pockets in order to maximize the amount of space inside the lunch bag.
Keep your Lunch Bag in the Fridge (if possible)
If you have access to a fridge during the work or school day, place your lunch bag in there for maximum cooling.
Keep your Lunch Bag Sealed
To maximize the performance of your lunch bag, keep the bag closed until lunch time so that no cool air will escape.
Clean your Lunch Bag
Keeping your lunch bag clean will ensure your lunch bag stays bacteria-free. Most food residues can be wiped clean with a mild soapy solution and a damp cloth. This applies to both the interior and exterior of the lunch bag.
