Your Titan cooler is built tough — engineered with rugged materials, advanced insulation and performance that goes the distance. But just like any great piece of gear, it deserves a little care to keep it performing its best.
Whether you’ve just finished a camping trip, tailgate, or beach day, here’s how to clean, maintain, and store your Titan cooler so it’s ready for your next adventure.
Step 1: Empty and Rinse Right Away
After each use, remove everything from your cooler — food, drinks, ice, and meltwater. Give the interior a quick rinse with warm water to wash away any residue.
Step 2: Wipe It Clean (Inside and Out)
Use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe down all interior surfaces. To properly clean the inside of the cooler, use mild dishwashing liquid soap and avoid using harsh detergents or bleach as they can damage the interior Ultra Safe® leak proof lining. If your cooler has a HardBody® liner and SmartShelf™, they can be removed for easy cleaning with the same dishwashing liquid soap. The Microban® antimicrobial protection in your cooler helps guard against bacterial odors and stains, but you still need to clean your cooler after using.
For the exterior, a damp cloth and mild soap are all you need. Titan coolers feature water and stain repellent, wipe clean exteriors, so dirt, sand, and grime come off easily - no scrubbing required.
Step 3: Let It Air Dry Completely
Before storing, always let your cooler air dry with the lid open. This prevents moisture from getting trapped inside, which can lead to unwanted odors over time.
Pro tip: place it in a cool, shaded area - never in direct sunlight - to preserve the exterior coating and insulation.
Step 4: Store Smart
Once dry, store your Titan in a cool, dry place with the lid slightly open to maintain airflow.
Avoid stacking heavy items on top of it (especially for soft coolers) in order to keep its shape intact.
If you have a Titan PRO Hard Cooler, you can safely store it in a garage or basement - just make sure it’s away from direct heat sources.
Step 5: Quick Refresh Before Your Next Trip
If your cooler has been in storage for a while, give it a quick refresh:
- Wipe it with a damp cloth
- Check zippers, straps, and latches
- Add a small box of baking soda overnight to absorb any lingering smells
Your Titan will be fresh, clean, and ready for action.
Why It Matters
Regular cleaning and proper storage don’t just keep your cooler looking great, they help maintain insulation performance, extend product life and ensure every trip starts fresh. Because when you pack a Titan, you’re not just bringing a cooler - you’re bringing years of innovation, reliability, and cold that goes the distance.
